Let me explain the Pi Launchpad in simple terms
Let me explain the Pi Launchpad in simple terms:
You stake Pi and you commit Pi. These are two different actions:
1. Staking Pi gives you PiPower. Your PiPower determines the maximum number of tokens you are allowed to buy at launch.
2. Committing Pi is what actually lets you purchase the tokens from your allocation (as determined by your PiPower). You pay with the committed Pi and receive the tokens at the initial listing price.
You will get your staked Pi back after the participation window. However, the committed Pi is not returned — it is the payment you make to buy the tokens.
Simple Summary:
Without participating in the Pi Launchpad, you cannot buy the app’s token at the initial listing price during launch. Only those who participate in the Launchpad get the privilege of buying at the initial listing price.
Additionally, some participants will receive a discount on the initial listing price. These are the people who actively use/engage with the app they staked and committed to.
This means active users get more tokens for the same amount of Pi because they buy at a cheaper price.
Example:
- Normal participants: 5 Pi = 10 tokens
- Active users (with discount): 5 Pi = 13 tokens
This is just an illustration. Actual numbers may vary.
Important Note:
The biggest discounts go to the people with the highest engagement. Everything is ranked based on everyone's engagement score with the app.
