The Empty Chair

I’m doing well, Steve. Thank you for checking.

The office is running. Your chair is empty, but nobody has sat in it. We pull it in every morning and pull it out every evening. It’s not about furniture. It’s about honor. That seat belongs to you.

Lagos was fair this week. We met the deadline, the accounts balanced, and the team handled the client without panic. I took care of the vendor issue and made sure nothing was left hanging. We’re working like you’re listening from the next room, sir.

I hope you’re doing well too. I hope you’re resting well, eating well, and not carrying everyone’s problems on your back right now. Even strong men need to set the load down for a bit.

_Que sera, sera._ Whatever will be, will be. We’re not anxious about what we can’t control. We’re faithful with what’s in front of us today.

Your name is still respected here. Your desk is still yours. The chair is still empty.

Come back when you’re ready. We’ll pull it out for you, and the room will feel right again.
