SocialFi Movement: Why Web3 Platforms Are the Future of Creator Economy

All these years, I have seen talented authors spend countless nights and days working on great content, only to become hostage to obscure algorithms and minuscule payments in return. Everyone who works as a creator must know what it feels like to spend hours on developing an impeccable piece of writing and have it buried within 24 hours due to an ad-hoc metric introduced by a corporation running the show. These centralized platforms collect, monetize, and manipulate our work without giving us any credit for doing so, which seems unfair. But something incredible and monumental is going on right now, and it is known as SocialFi.

The whole concept behind the traditional creator economy is flawed from the get-go since it turns creators into unpaid slaves and considers readers products to sell to advertisements. To counteract this issue, I believe that the whole idea of "Write-to-Earn" and "Read-to-Earn" needs to come to fruition in full swing. And thanks to some innovative platforms such as BULB, this dream has become reality.

The introduction of tokenized engagement brings absolute equality to both parties involved in this exchange of ideas. As an author, I no longer need to feel frustrated since I am getting compensated for my creativity in the form of cryptocurrency. And what makes this change even more amazing is that the reader also benefits since his/her attention is being valued by the same token system, meaning that your comments and participation can help earn tokens in return for effort. Thus, we can see that the passive audience is transformed into active members of the community that contribute to this project together.

In my opinion, this is the ultimate play of patience, and we currently stand on the threshold of another revolution. The Web3 space is evolving very quickly; however, the average user population has not discovered its potential yet. Just like with blogs or YouTube, there will come a day when everyone understands what we see here now. Those people who will be active participants in this space during the early stages will soon turn into media giants. We, as authors, need to capitalize on this opportunity right now and establish ourselves as leading authorities on a certain topic by writing and engaging consistently.

I’m curious to know where you stand on this digital evolution. What is the biggest barrier keeping you from moving your content entirely to Web3?
