What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up

Childhood plans (What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up)

Today, as I reflect on my past, I can't help but smile at the innocence of my childhood dreams. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to forget those aspirations amidst the pressures of adulthood and family responsibilities. So, in this article, I want to take a trip down memory lane and share some of my childhood aspirations.

Monkey

When I was around 8 or 9 years old, believe it or not, I wanted to be a monkey! I spent countless hours climbing trees, as my village was surrounded by lush greenery. I vividly remember watching a movie about a monkey (I can't recall the name now), where the monkey had the ability to transform into a human. As a child, I truly believed that such transformations were possible in real life. It may sound silly now, but back then, it was a genuine dream of mine. Thankfully, as I grew older, reality set in, and I'm grateful that this particular dream didn't come true!

Powers of superheroes

During my childhood, I was deeply fascinated by fictional movies like Spiderman and Superman. Among them, my absolute favorite was Spiderman. I yearned to possess all of his superpowers because I harbored a strong desire to rid the world of crime. During that phase, I even perceived the boys who bullied me at school as villains, and I fantasized about protecting my fellow students by confronting them. I realize now that it sounds peculiar, but it's the truth.

As I grew older, my aspirations shifted towards becoming an army officer. This dream was sparked by watching the Bollywood movie "Main Hoon Na." After viewing it, I became enamored with the idea of serving as an army officer. I vividly recall daydreaming incessantly about the life of an army officer. However, for various reasons, I eventually let go of this dream. Interestingly, it wasn't solely my dream; it was also a cherished aspiration of my mother's.

Programmer

As time passed, my aspirations shifted once again, this time towards becoming a programmer or, you could say, a hacker. However, don't get me wrong; my desire to become a hacker stemmed from a genuine intention to serve the nation and law enforcement. Like before, this dream was also inspired by a movie. Currently, I'm pursuing a degree in programming, but my interest in the field has waned.

Businessman.

Next, I developed a fascination with becoming a businessman. Interestingly, this dream didn't originate from watching movies; instead, it emerged from observing real-life individuals. For the past three years, I've been committed to this dream, and upon completing my degree, I plan to start my own business.

Reflecting on these changes, it's evident how much our minds evolve as we grow older. I've skipped over many of my childhood dreams here, only sharing the ones that stand out the most. Now, I'm uncertain about what destiny holds for me and can only hope for the best.
