The Late Rain

I’m doing well, Steve. Thank you for checking.

The office is fine. Lagos gave us late rain this week — the kind that comes after you’ve already planned for sun. It didn’t flood us. It just cooled the air and reminded us that not everything arrives on our timetable.

I handled the three things you left: vendor followed up, client signed off, accounts balanced. The team said, “Oga is not here, but Oga’s order is here.” I think that’s the best report I can give you.

I hope you’re doing well too. I hope your rest is real rest, not just sleep with your phone on. Leaders need to step away so the work can stand on its own legs. Yours is standing.

_Que sera, sera._ Whatever will be, will be. We’re not anxious about next month’s problems while this week is still behaving. We do today’s work today. Tomorrow will bring its own strength.

Your name is still respected on this floor. Your chair is still warm. The door is still open, but only the right people are walking through.

Come back when you’re ready, sir. The rain has passed. The ground is soft, and things are growing.
