Cole Palmer is likely frustrated by the situation! Despite the England winger's brilliant performance, it's overshadowed by Djordje Petrovic's costly mistake, ultimately resulting in a disappointing outcome for the Blues.

The former Manchester City forward delivered another outstanding performance, but despite his efforts, Chelsea couldn't secure a win against 10-man Burnley, settling for a 2-2 draw. Cole Palmer showcased his talent once again, increasing his league goal tally to 13 by converting a penalty and adding a late goal. However, Chelsea's other players failed to support him adequately as Burnley, fighting relegation, showed resilience to equalize twice and earn a crucial point.

Although Chelsea initially struggled to assert dominance, they appeared to seize control when Axel Disasi seemingly headed in a goal from a Mykhailo Mudryk cross. However, after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to the ball hitting Disasi's arm.

Despite facing numerous attempts from Chelsea, Burnley's goalkeeper Arijanet Muric put up a solid defense. Nonetheless, Chelsea managed to break the deadlock just before halftime when Mudryk was fouled in the box, leading to Lorenz Assignon receiving a second yellow card in two minutes and their manager Vincent Kompany being sent off. Cole Palmer successfully converted the resulting penalty kick.

Despite the setback just before halftime, Burnley entered the second half with renewed energy and managed to equalize with a stunning strike from Josh Cullen from outside the box. Despite Mauricio Pochettino's team dominating possession, they struggled to create clear scoring opportunities as Burnley defended resolutely, with Muric making impressive saves. However, Chelsea eventually broke through their opponent's defense, with Cole Palmer remaining composed to score after receiving a pass from Raheem Sterling.
Incredibly, Burnley managed to equalize once again, with Dara O'Shea heading the ball past Petrovic, and they even came close to securing a victory, hitting the crossbar before missing the follow-up opportunity.
The performance of Chelsea's players at Stamford Bridge will now be assessed by GOAL.

Chelsea players rating

Goalkeeper & Defense

Djordje Petrovic (5/10):

Made some important saves to thwart Burnley's attacks and couldn't be faulted for the first goal they conceded. However, his error for the second goal was glaring, and he should have dealt with it more effectively. A nightmarish moment for him.

Malo Gusto (7/10):

Initially had some shaky defensive moments but improved as the game progressed, displaying solid tackling and effective movement down the left flank.

Axel Disasi (6/10):

Was reliable in aerial duels and in possession of the ball. Unfortunately, his goal celebration was cut short by VAR.

Benoit Badiashile (5/10):

Allowed Foster to evade him, leading to a significant opportunity for Burnley to take the lead. Overall, a disappointing performance from the French defender.

Marc Cucurella (5/10):

Struggled on the left side, failing to establish a connection with Mudryk and offering little in terms of contribution to the team's attack.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo (6/10):

Displayed good ball control but lacked sufficient defensive support for the backline.

Enzo Fernandez (7/10):

Impressed with accurate passes that advanced Chelsea's attacks. Another commendable performance from the Argentine midfielder.

Conor Gallagher (6/10):

Demonstrated effective passing and notably created a significant opportunity for Mudryk in the second half.

Attack

Cole Palmer (9/10):

Stood out as Chelsea's most menacing player from the outset, confidently converting a Panenka penalty to restore their lead. Almost orchestrated the winning goal with a superb pass to Sterling.

Nicolas Jackson (6/10):

Contributed with some promising runs to unsettle Burnley's defense but missed several scoring opportunities.

Mykhailo Mudryk (8/10):

Created numerous dangerous moments with his accurate crosses and shots, displaying good chemistry with teammates. Although he fortuitously earned the penalty, Mudryk also provided an excellent opportunity for Jackson in the second half, only for the forward to miss the chance.

Substitutes & Manager

Noni Madueke (6/10):

Made an impact shortly after entering the game, managing to get a decent shot off.

Raheem Sterling (6/10):

Provided the assist for what seemed like the winning goal, but missed a crucial opportunity to head in for a 3-2 lead following Palmer's exceptional pass.

Alfie Gilchrist (N/A):

Came on for the last five minutes to replace Gusto, who went off injured.

Mauricio Pochettino (5/10):

Despite his team's improved performance and dominance in possession, Pochettino's side failed to secure three points against a struggling, 10-man opposition. A disappointing outcome for him.
