West Ham vs Tottenham: Preview, predictions and lineups
West Ham host London derby against Tottenham on Tuesday night
Hammers succumbed to Newcastle turnaround at the weekend
Spurs toppled Luton Town on return from international break

West Ham play host to a London derby on Tuesday night as they welcome long-time rivals Tottenham to London Stadium.

It was all going so swimmingly for David Moyes' side on Saturday afternoon as they took a 3-1 second-half lead at St James' Park but a remarkable Newcastle turnaround sparked by a controversial penalty decision saw the Hammers walk away with nothing.

A midweek slate of fixtures means the Hammers have little time to pick themselves up from the weekend's disappointment and their upcoming duel is a big one, especially for the West Ham faithful.

Tottenham visit Stratford on Tuesday aiming to join Aston Villa on 59 points before the Villans take on Manchester City the following evening. Spurs struggled yet again in the first half on Saturday, but a stellar response after half-time saw them emerge as 2-1 victors over Luton Town.

Ange Postecoglou's side rarely do things the easy way and they'll be out for revenge in midweek after West Ham won in N17 before Christmas.

Here's 90min's preview of Tuesday's London derby.

West Ham team news
Edson Alvarez serves the second game of his suspension on Tuesday night having picked up ten bookings in the league this season. Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse will likely continue as the midfield pair.

Alphonse Areola picked up a muscle injury on Saturday and was replaced by Lukasz Fabianski. The Frenchman is unlikely to play on Tuesday.

Tottenham team news
Micky Van De Ven

Micky van de Ven was back in the matchday squad on Saturday having recovered from a hamstring injury, but the defender was an unused substitute. He is expected to start on Tuesday in place of Radu Dragusin.

Rodrigo Bentancur impressed off the bench against Luton and could replace Yves Bissouma in the XI. Brennan Johnson will surely come back into the lineup, too.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs West Ham (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Werner.

West Ham vs Tottenham score prediction
West Ham will be on the floor after Saturday's disappointment, but the importance of this fixture will surely pick them straight back up.

They stole a win in N17 in their previous meeting, with the hosts boasting the magicians in attack to exploit a Spurs side that has struggled defending counter-attacks this season - even with Van de Ven.

There should be goals in this, with the visitors perhaps requiring more second-half brilliance to earn a point at the London Stadium.

Prediction: West Ham 2-2 Tottenham

Premier League Gameweek 31 kicks off at St. James' Park with Everton visiting Newcastle
Magpies staged dramatic comeback to beat West Ham on Saturday
Toffees haven't won a league game since Christmas

A midweek slate of Premier League action kicks off at St James' Park as Newcastle host Everton on Tuesday night.

The Magpies continue to be struck down by injuries but head into their upcoming duel in high spirits having staged a dramatic turnaround to beat West Ham 4-3 on Saturday. Hero Harvey Barnes, who's endured a tough debut campaign at the club, will be given a chance to shine from the outset against the Toffees.

Newcastle's victory was a major pressure reliever on Eddie Howe, who would have come under fierce criticism had West Ham held on for all three points. Saturday's win leaves the Magpies on the cusp of the European spots.

Everton are in desperate need of respite after losing again at the weekend as Seamus Coleman's own goal consigned them to a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. The Toffees haven't won a Premier League game since Christmas, with their position towards the bottom of the table a precarious one. They've got to start picking up points soon with the pressure mounting on Sean Dyche.

Here's 90min's preview of Tuesday night's duel on Tyneside.

Newcastle team news
Jamaal Lascelles

Newcastle's injury crisis worsened at the weekend as Jamaal Lascelles succumbed to an ACL tear just a week after Sven Botman suffered the same long-term setback.

The two centre-backs join Nick Pope, Lewis Miley, Kieran Trippier, Joelinton and Callum Wilson on the sidelines.

Anthony Gordon is suspended and won't be able to face his former club after he received a second yellow card late on against West Ham. Miguel Almiron is also a doubt having picked up a knock on Saturday.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Everton
Newcastle predicted lineup vs Everton (4-3-3): Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Anderson; Murphy, Isak, Barnes.

Everton team news
The visitors are nowhere near as hamstrung by injury and Dyche could welcome Vitalii Mykolenko back into his matchday squad on Tuesday after he missed Saturday's defeat at Bournemouth through illness.

Dele Alli remains sidelined with a hip injury, but the former Tottenham star could feature before the end of the season.

Arnaut Danjuma is currently recovering from an ankle injury.

Everton predicted lineup vs Newcastle
Everton predicted lineup vs Newcastle (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Young, Onana, Garner, McNeil; Gomes; Beto.

Newcastle vs Everton score prediction
Newcastle may be defensively porous and without star winger Gordon on Tuesday, but they'll be riding a wave of momentum and are typically so hard to stop under the lights at St James' Park. The Magpies have won ten of their 15 Premier League home games this season.

Everton are competent on their travels and thumped Howe's injury-hit side back in December, but there's little to suggest they're capable of springing a surprise on Tuesday night. They don't have the attacking talent to make use of Newcastle's distinct vulnerabilities and their lack of defensive solidity in 2024 will undoubtedly concern Dyche.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Everton
