EXPLORING WEB3
LETS LEARN WEB3 IN THE EASIEST WAY I CAN THINK OF
When I was about 9 or 10, my mom and older sister wouldn’t let me touch the remote.
I could watch the show, but never touch the remote.
They had all the control. 😂😂 — THIS IS WEB1
Fast forward to my teenage years — I could now watch any show I wanted.
Sometimes my sister watched with me.
Sometimes my mom did.
But other times, they’d take the remote and I’d have to watch what they wanted.
I was given some control over what I watched and when — even though my mom still intercepted sometimes. 😂
— THIS IS WEB2
But WEB3 is different. Here’s why:
• I’m an adult now. Instead of the grown-ups controlling the TV and remote,
I can access any show or movie I want using something called BLOCKCHAIN.
It’s like a public movie studio where everyone can see what’s being made, who’s watching what, and no one can lie or change the story without everyone else knowing.
• If I watch a movie(asset) and love it, I can save it to my digital movie shelf called a WALLET.
I can watch it again and again — and no one can add or remove anything without my permission.
• I can send and receive movies with friends without asking my mom first, using something called a SMART CONTRACT.
It’s like an unspoken rule in the studio that says:
“If you send me a movie, I’ll buy you a snack.”
• It even has fun stuff like:
• NFTs — special edition stickers from your favorite movies
• Crypto — digital coins you use to buy snacks in the studio, or send to friends so they can get their own
SO, WHAT IS WEB3?
It evolved from Web1 — the read-only internet, where tech companies owned the platforms and decided what we could see.
Then came Web2 — we could choose what to read, watch, or even create, but those same companies still owned the platforms and controlled the data.
Now we’re in Web3 —
where we own the content, the data, and even the platforms.
We get to see the movies being made, trade movies with friends,
choose what to watch, when to watch it, and store your favorite ones.
