How Cakes On Solana Wurks
Wurk for us is a platform which has enabled us to engage a consistent marketing campaign with very few resources.
If you’re wanting to test out a project idea it’s perfect for getting started quickly and cheaply with actual campaigns. Here’s the types of things we’re doing on Wurk today. We hope some of this can prove to be inspiration for whatever you’re working on!
Building a community inside of Wurk
The killer feature of Wurk for us has been the ability to set up a community. Doing so gives a number of extra features on Wurk https://wurk.fun/community/a2d3159c-9fa2-4206-981a-7f0d0069df59
Use your Entry Task to filter for the right Wurkers
We require a minimum of Level 2, human verified Wurkers. As Bulb (https://www.bulbapp.io/u/2naDt6dWy5uF3vbWKVxddTKmdEg3FaF1d89CBe3EaqYn/cakes-on-solana) is an integral of our project we require Wurkers wanting to join to verify they’re at least level 5 on the platform by creating a post and submitting it as part of their application to join.
Quality beats quantity for us. Our advice to other projects considering building a community is to set the bar high for what you want from your members and be patient. Every job you set that is for your community only is an advert for Wurkers to join the group. You’ll get a lot of Wurkers complaining but realistically a lot of online activity is pretty spammy and low value and that sort of engagement on your social properties can often do more harm than good.
Adding and Removing members is easy
You can easily remove members directly from submissions. Similarly you can directly invite Wurkers to your community from the same place.
Use your community score to target jobs, encourage engagement and reward the community
On each job you create for your community, along with the base reviewing tools (Select Winners, Review, Compliment) you can also assign a score which contributes to a members rank on the community leaderboard
This is one of your community’s superpowers. Whilst you can’t always reward every entry on every job for your community, you can always give out ratings.
You can then use those rankings to engage your community
You can filter for rankings on jobs.
Our advice is to mix it up. You’ll end up with some star members with high scores, so as well as having Min score jobs (e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/764035a2), have some jobs that have a Min and a Max score or just a Max score to encourage less active Wurkers to engage.
You can run jobs to reward leaderboard rankings. This is a great way to reinforce the value of the leaderboard to your community. Example jobs https://wurk.fun/custom/e3c7dd9a & https://wurk.fun/custom/e3c7dd9a
Custom Jobs + Templates help streamline your operations
We’ve experimented with a number of different types of jobs.
Reddit content jobs didn’t work out for us e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/20024852 and https://wurk.fun/custom/78fb3b8a
Blog post jobs didn’t work out either e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/dff4ed00, https://wurk.fun/custom/bbd4c6f0, https://wurk.fun/custom/9b0ac04d
Standard post boost jobs have done okay, but only when we targeted smaller platforms (like The Arena, Bulb, Farcaster, Lens) e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/c0e49d6f
Generic cake creation jobs saw good content but low engagement per post e.g., e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/19f6a1ba and https://wurk.fun/custom/043d8ec1
What has done much better for us is content creation jobs that are anchored to one of our posts via having the submissions go into the comments. Targeting one platform at a time lets us better see what the ROI is from each e.g., https://wurk.fun/custom/dfb7f19a and https://wurk.fun/custom/aa7c3c82
Creating templates for your jobs (see https://wurk.fun/create/templates) and iterating on those as you go saves a heap of time in the longer term and allows you to achieve consistency for your community.
What next?
Wurk is still a very new platform (only turning 1 year old very recently https://t.me/WURKDOTFUN/13389/578342) so we’re excited to see what happens next and to be a (small) part of helping shape the future of the platform.
You can have some cake.
