A new report details how North Korean attackers are targeting western countries with a new tactic. Attackers are fraudulently obtaining positions so they can victimize the employer!

I predict we will see more of these types of attacks where stolen or fabricated data is used to obtain a trusted position at the targeted organization.

Be wary and act now to implement basic insider risk programs to prevent/minimize, detect, and respond to these attacks. See the full blog for recommendations.

You’d think working at Linus Tech Tips means everyone has insane, high-end rigs—but that’s not always the case! Many staff members rock mid-range or even older setups, prioritizing reliability over bleeding-edge specs.

Some prefer tinkering with quirky custom builds rather than just flexing top-tier hardware.

Let’s just say his home setup isn’t always the powerhouse you’d expect… sometimes, it’s questionable at best.

Nintendo frustrates me like no other company, overpriced games that never go on sale, outdated hardware, and online services straight out of 2005.

And yet, the moment they drop the Switch 2, I’m handing them my money without hesitation. Why? Because despite all my complaints, no one does first-party games like Nintendo. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, they have a chokehold on my childhood nostalgia and my wallet.

So yeah, I’ll be first in line for the Switch 2, and I’ll be mad about it the whole time.

I built the ultimate hidden gaming room, complete with a secret entrance, think bookshelf door or sliding wall, for a true hidden hideout.

Inside, RGB lighting sets the perfect gaming vibe, while soundproofing ensures complete immersion

Comfort is key, so I added a custom gaming chair, a mini fridge, and smart controls for lighting, AC, and game modes via voice commands.

To top it off, there’s a retro arcade corner for a nostalgic touch. This is the ultimate dream setup, who else wants one?

Ransomware payments are down according to Chainalysis, but it may be a little too early to celebrate.

Victims are realizing that paying the ransom only encourages more attacks, so payoffs are not happening as much – lowering by 35% from last year. Additionally, crackdowns by law enforcement are putting pressure on the bad actors and the cryptocurrency systems they prefer to transact the ransom payments.

The narrative of this Pavel Durov's arrest is spinning out of control with Musk and others claiming it's a free speech issue. But the truth is, the charges against Durov focus on Telegram's complicity in illegal activities, including child exploitation. It's time to stop the misinformation and recognize the importance of responsible content moderation. We need to hold platforms accountable for enabling harm, not just protect their freedom to operate.
