Nature
"I noticed my Shinta mustard greens were leaning quite aggressively to the west. I realized it was a classic case of Phototropism. The auxins in the stem were literally running away from the sun, causing one side to grow faster and push the plant into a tilt. Once I moved it to a spot with more balanced light, it straightened right up! A good reminder to always rotate your pots."
Hydroponic Notes Eight Days After Sowing
On the eighth day after sowing, the seedlings, which have already developed their third leaf, are still given a nutrient solution of 400 ppm, by sprinkling it onto the tray, but not too much. The morning is cloudy, but the seedlings should still be exposed to the sun, even if the weather is unfavorable. It's best to avoid direct exposure to rain. If possible, minimize exposure to rain. Expectation: A massive harvest of homegrown peppers. 🌶️ Reality: Staring at seeds for days waiting for them to sprout like... 🙄
I’m officially in the "burnout phase." Limited sun, rising costs, and results that are far from great. Sometimes we just have to admit that gardening is exhausting work.
Anyone else in the same boat? Or is it just me considering an early retirement from my backyard farm? 😅

Cacti are fascinating plants that have adapted to the harshest of environments. Their unique shapes and spines provide protection from predators and conserve water. With over 1,500 species, cacti come in a variety of sizes and colors, adding a touch of beauty to any landscape. Their ability to thrive in arid conditions is truly remarkable.
See those pale, speckled spots on my water spinach? It’s not a nutrient deficiency—it’s actually the work of Whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci).
These tiny pests are "polyphagous," meaning they aren't picky eaters. They migrated right over from my chili plants to feast on these tender leaves.
My Fix-it Plan:
- 🟡 Deploying Yellow Sticky Traps.
- 🧄 Spraying a mild organic garlic solution.
- 📏 Increasing the distance between different plant varieties.
