Dominik Szoboszlai, born on October 25, 2000, is a Hungarian professional footballer known for his versatility in playing as a midfielder. He currently plays for Premier League club Liverpool and serves as the captain of the Hungary national team.
Szoboszlai began his career in the youth system and made his senior debut with Austrian club FC Liefering, a reserve team of Red Bull Salzburg, in 2017. He later joined the parent club in January 2018 and became a regular starter from the 2018–19 season onwards. During his time with Red Bull Salzburg, he helped the team win three league titles and two domestic cups.
In January 2021, Szoboszlai made a move to RB Leipzig in Germany for a reported fee of €20 million, becoming the most expensive Hungarian footballer of all time. He contributed to his new club's success by winning two DFB-Pokal titles during his three seasons there.
In July 2023, Liverpool signed Szoboszlai after activating his release clause of €70 million, making him the club's fourth-most expensive signing in history.
Internationally, Szoboszlai has represented Hungary at both youth and senior levels. He made his senior debut during the Euro 2020 qualifiers and played a crucial role in helping Hungary qualify for the finals by scoring a last-minute goal in the play-offs against Iceland.

On December 17, 2020, RB Leipzig announced the signing of Szoboszlai on a four-and-a-half-year contract, which extended until June 2025. Although he became eligible to play in January 2021, a reported price of €20 million made him the most expensive Hungarian player in history. Unfortunately, Szoboszlai was unable to feature in any match for RB Leipzig during the 2020–21 season due to a long-term injury.
In the 2021–22 Bundesliga season, he made 31 appearances and scored 6 goals.

Subsequently, on August 19, he made his competitive debut at Anfield in a 3–1 victory against Bournemouth. His performance earned widespread praise, and Liverpool fans voted to award him the Player of the Match award.
Szoboszlai scored his first goal for Liverpool on September 3, 2023, in a 3–0 Premier League win against Aston Villa, striking with his weak foot from outside the box in the 3rd minute. He became the first Hungarian to score for Liverpool. Additionally, on September 19, 2023, he was named Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Month.

By October 2023, Szoboszlai had created the most chances for Liverpool in the Premier League in the 2023–24 season, with 21, marking the highest number of chances created by a Liverpool player in their first nine Premier League appearances for the club since 2003. However, on January 1, 2024, he suffered a hamstring injury in a Premier League match against Newcastle United. He returned from his injury in a 5–2 victory in a 2023–24 FA Cup match against Norwich City. Nonetheless, it was revealed on February 7, 2024, that he had returned from his injury too early, leading him to miss several matches in February. Finally, on March 2, 2024, he returned from his injury in a 1–0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
