Degenerate Slang Terms:

  • Degen – Short for "degenerate," often used ironically in crypto, gambling, or finance communities to describe risky behavior, e.g., “I’m aping into this shitcoin like a true degen.”
  • Cope – A dismissive way to say someone is trying to justify or rationalize a loss or failure. “Keep coping, bro.”
  • Seethe – Used to mock someone for being angry or triggered, often said with “seethe, cope, mald” in a string.
  • Mald – A combo of “mad” and “bald,” used to roast someone who's raging hard, sometimes implying stress-induced hair loss.
  • Giga/Chad – “Chad” refers to an idealized alpha male. “GigaChad” is the exaggerated version – hypermasculine, dominant, untouchable.
  • Virgin – Used to describe someone awkward, weak, or socially inept (in contrast to Chad). Often part of memes or format comparisons.
  • NPC – Stands for Non-Playable Character. Used to call someone mindless, like they’re just repeating what they’ve been programmed to think.
  • Redpilled / Blackpilled – From Matrix metaphor. “Redpill” = seeing the “truth,” often with conspiracy or anti-mainstream views. “Blackpill” = full nihilism or defeatism, especially around dating or society.
  • Doomer – A person overwhelmed by pessimism or nihilism about the world. Wears black, listens to sad music, has no hope.
  • Zoomer – Gen Z person, often portrayed as ironic, emotionally detached, and raised by the internet.
  • Schizo-posting – Unhinged, conspiracy-fueled rambling on forums or threads. Usually intense and incoherent.
  • Slop – Used to describe low-effort, mass-produced entertainment or content (like “Netflix slop” or “AI slop”).
  • Ape – A term from the finance/crypto/gambling world. “Aping in” = investing without thinking, often proudly reckless.
  • Yolo – “You Only Live Once.” Used to justify impulsive, reckless actions, especially financially or socially.
  • Based – Used to describe someone who speaks or acts without caring about social expectations. Originally pejorative, now often a compliment.
  • Cringe – Describes embarrassing, awkward, or try-hard behavior. Often used sarcastically or as a meme format.
  • Sigma – A twist on alpha/beta male memes. Sigma males are lone wolves — self-sufficient, silent, mysterious. Often ridiculed or memed.
  • Goblin Mode – Acting unhinged, feral, or antisocial in an unapologetically messy way. Popularized ironically.
  • Grug Brain – A self-mocking way of saying someone’s thought process is primitive or extremely simplified, like a caveman.
  • Waifu/Husbando – Fictional anime characters someone is obsessed with, sometimes taken to absurd or ironic levels.
  • Neet – Not in Education, Employment, or Training. Sometimes proudly embraced by those rejecting societal norms.
  • Inceldom – Originated from “involuntary celibate,” now often part of blackpill or doomer culture. Usage can be ironic, sincere, or meme-based.
  • Skibidi / Rizz / Ohio – Examples of Gen Z absurdist lingo and meme culture. Often used with no logic—intentionally dumb
