✍️ Post Body: Crypto isn’t all shiny tech and moon missions — sometimes, it’s just a high-tech jungle full of smooth-talking scammers.

In New York, law enforcement has seized over $440,000 connected to a crypto investment scam that preyed on Facebook users — mostly Russian-speaking communities — with fake digital asset investment ads.

Here’s the twist: The ads claimed the platforms had a valid BitLicense (New York’s legal crypto license) — but it was all smoke and mirrors.

📉 Over 300 victims lost more than $1 million, lured in by promises of high returns and official-looking platforms.

Facebook has since deleted more than 700 fraudulent ads, and public officials have issued a warning:

“Don't trust every crypto ad you see on your feed — especially the ones that sound too good to be true.”

📌 TL;DR for crypto realists: The blockchain may be decentralized, but scams follow the same old playbook — fake licenses, false promises, and Facebook ads that hit just the right target. Stay sharp. In Web3, you are your own security. 🛡️
