The debate over the ideal social media platform for the cryptocurrency community has sparked when the āAutism Capitalā account called for Ethereumās ābirth giverā Vitalik Buterin to return to Twitter.
Vitalik needs to get back on X. Farcaster isnāt going to win the culture war. If he wants Ethereum to shine he should engage more on this platform, not sequester himself with his chosen peers on an island. He will have far more impact if he engages the bigger community here.

However, the harsh reality is that despite having nearly 180 thousand followers on Farcaster, this number is still only about 1/30 of Vitalikās massive fan base on Twitter ā where he has up to 5.2 million followers. Therefore, the call from āAutism Capitalā is not entirely unreasonable ā Buterinās influence would be much greater if he returned to Twitter.
On the other hand, the SIM Swap issue causing account hack incidents has not been thoroughly resolved on Twitter. Many large accounts continue to face similar problems, from Vitalik Buterin, MicroStrategy, DWF Labs, CoinGecko, CEO of Algorand Foundation to Trezor, and even the SEC itself cannot escape this dangerous vortex.
Will Vitalik return to Twitter to leverage his massive fan base, or will he steadfastly support Farcaster as the new paradigm of decentralized social media?

SEC Seeks $2 Billion Fine from Ripple (XRP)
Although the lawsuit between the two parties is still ongoing, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is still demanding Ripple Labs to pay a fine of up to $2 billion.

The legal storm between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reaching its peak of tension. In a recent development, the SEC has proposed a staggering $2 billion fine against Ripple Labs ā a record penalty second only to the Binance case.
This information was disclosed by Rippleās General Counsel Stuart Alderoty himself. According to him, the massive fine proposal is currently under seal by the court but will be officially unveiled on March 26th.
This is the latest move by the SEC in the ongoing battle since 2020, where they accused Ripple of unlawfully selling securities in the form of XRP tokens. Despite a partially favorable ruling from the federal court, the SEC remains steadfast in pursuing the lawsuit.
Alderoty declared that Ripple will fight to the end, rebutting the SECās request for a hefty fine in April. The legal battle between the two parties has escalated to new heights, with the potential $2 billion fine looming as a decisive blow.
The SECās action is part of Chairman Gary Genslerās cryptocurrency crackdown campaign over the past two years. Rumors of Ethereum being the next target are also circulating. The heat of the fight against cryptocurrencies shows no signs of cooling down.

Large Volume of Ethereum from Early ICO Days Suddenly Moves
In recent weeks, a number of previously inactive Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses have re-emerged on the network in March.

Their resurgence has attracted attention from the cryptocurrency community. Particularly noteworthy was an event that occurred last Saturday: an individual who participated in the initial coin offering (ICO) of Ethereum executed a significant transaction, transferring 2,000 ether. This marks the first transaction of Ethereum ICO since 2015.
The Ethereum ICO began on July 22, 2014, where investors purchased ETH. In the first 12 hours, 7 million ether were bought at a rate of 2,000 ETH for one BTC. With Bitcoin valued at $621 on that day, users purchased ETH at around $0.31 per unit. These transactions were recorded on the Ethereum ICO wallet labeled āGenesisā on etherscan.io.
During that time frame, over 7 million ETH were traded. A blockchain transaction alert website, Whale-alert.io, detected a transaction for Genesis tokens over the past weekend. The investorās address began transferring 2,000 ETH last Saturday, created on July 30, 2015, over a year after the ICO commenced.

At that time, the value of ETH had risen from $0.31 during the ICO to $2.92 per ether on July 30, 2015. This meant that selling 2,000 ETH could yield $5,840 for the owner, a significant profit compared to the initial investment of $621. However, the investor decided to hold onto it, and now that amount has grown to $6.8 million. These funds were distributed among several addresses before being consolidated.

While many chose to sell in 2017, others opted to wait until the market surged in 2021 and the present before executing their transactions. Similarly, a significant number of classic Bitcoin addresses have also been reactivated this month due to the continuous rise in Bitcoinās value.
