The BAYC and MAYC NFT phishing attacked shocked many of us few days ago (or was it a week, can't remember. Time moves so fast in crypto world!)

If you have used NFT Trader in the past, revoke approval to their contract as soon as possible.

37 BAYC and MAYC NFTs were drained. Another 14 Bored Apes and 36 Pudgy Penguins were also stolen.
So, what can you do in the NOW to prevent future attacks?

The best way is to do the TAP method. Thanks to Punk 6529 for the tip.

Understanding TAP: Your Three-Step Defense
Let's break it down.

1. Vault Address (Ice-cold): Your Fort Knox where you stash those NFTs you're not flexing right now. No connections to any services here – it's strictly for storing and transferring.

2. Transaction Address (Warm): You're in the buying or selling game? This is your spot. Only trusted exchanges get your attention here. And once the deal's done, straight to the Vault for safekeeping.

3. Minting Address (Hot): Fresh NFTs get minted here, and it stays squeaky clean – no assets held. As soon as they're minted, they're heading straight to the Vault or Transaction address for protection.

The Golden Rule of TAP: Stay Wary of Suspicious Links

Remember, never, and I mean NEVER, connect your NFT-loaded address to some sketchy link you stumbled upon on Twitter or Discord. Trusting those unverified sources? That's the express lane to getting scammed, my friends.

TAP is for Everyone: From Newbies to Pros

Whether you're on a newbie NFT journey with a MetaMask software wallet or you're on that hardware wallet level, TAP's got your back. But hey, even if you're repping that hardware wallet, it's not a free pass. You gotta lock it down with TAP too.

The Power of "Great TAP" Configuration

To level up that security game, aim for the "Great TAP" setup:

  • Minting (MetaMask Address or Hardware Wallet Address #1)
  • Transaction (Hardware Wallet Address #2)
  • Vault (Run by the safety pros at @CryptoSafetyFirst)

Creators, This One's for You Too
And you creators out there crafting those jaw-dropping NFTs, listen up! Use a fourth address, secured by a hardware wallet, for your artistic magic. Protect that address like it's holding the keys to the kingdom!

TAP: Ending the Phishing Madness
TAP ain't just some buzzword. It's the real deal, the key to shutting down these phishing attacks. Let's put an end to this madness and keep our NFTs safe and sound.

Final Word: Stay Sharp, Stay Secure
Remember, to thrive in this game, you gotta stay on top of it. Stay sharp, implement TAP today, and let's make moves together to secure those assets!
