👇 Recently, I got a comment from a new user @amiegeoffrey on one of my latest blog posts.
And said, “I'm trying so hard to navigate around here. I'm asking questions but nobody seems to be replying. I'd appreciate if you can be of help. I want to be an active number, but i don't know my way around.”
That made me realize we need to be way more welcoming to new people on BULB, as the great community we are, and share what works, so the new ones aren't left guessing.
If you're new and wondering how to get started (or skeptical about whether it's worth the time), let me walk you through my experience and spill the basics.
A BULB Quick Intro
Let me first give a brief introduction to what BULB is. The project started as a Do-To-Earn platform, but is now being transformed into a SocialFi platform built on Solana's blockchain.
It features a Write-to-Earn (W2E) and Read-to-Earn (R2E) system, which essentially rewards users for creating and reading content posted by others.
No middlemen—> just straightforward rewards.
Why BULB Is Different
On regular social media, you might get some attention, but the real earnings flow to big companies. On BULB, the value goes straight to us , the users.

And instead of likes or follows, you earn BULBmojis (think special points), which turn into BULB Tokens.

Jack Dorsey said centralized platforms hoard attention and value, using opaque algorithms that favor engagement (likes and follows) and ads over creators.
He urged the development of permissionless, decentralized media, allowing people to control narratives, trade value directly, and leverage collective intelligence instead of leaving it to a few companies.
Although creating usable decentralized alternatives, it yields a more resilient and equitable ecosystem governed by open protocols and community contributions, rather than being centralized.
Getting Started
1. Sign Up
It's pretty simple. You'll need a Solana wallet, BULB Wallet, or any other supported Solana wallet (e.g., Phantom, Solflare, Sora, and now the latest MetaMask). Connect it to BULB, set up your profile, and you're in.
2. Write Something
My first blog post was titled "Community = NFTs Success!". I didn't overthink it, just shared what I knew. When people read, commented, or clapped for my post, I earned BULB points.
3. Read & Engage
Reading earns you rewards, too. I found some great articles on crypto trends and replied to a few comments. That boosted my earnings.

Remember to leave genuine, thoughtful comments. Posting quick phrases like "Great Post" or "Very Important" will be seen as spam and won't help you progress or earn BULB points.

5. Track Your Progress
There's a leaderboard that shows the top earners each week. Seeing my name climb up was a nice motivator.
Gaining traction relies on sharing contributions and posts that capture interest. Simply copying and pasting content won't help you improve your standing.

Your posts should offer real value and engage your audience. Avoid posting for the sake of posting; thinking will get you to earn more.

If you encounter spam or bad behavior, you can report it and actually earn tokens for helping to moderate (Report-to-Earn and Moderate-to-Earn).
It maintains fairness and promotes community health.
