Overview

As time passed, layer 1 blockchains got faster and more reliable. However, setting up and maintaining nodes became more costly, and running blockchain applications became difficult and inconvenient without expensive equipment.

Over believes in providing maximum freedom to its users. Their goal is to create a user-friendly and safe blockchain that allows effortless participation; focusing on compact blockchain nodes that anyone can use, open participation in decision-making, and a risk-free experience for using blockchain applications. Over ensures that users can access data, contribute to the network, and use it independently without relying on others.

The Over Protocol is all about ensuring freedom in the blockchain space. The idea is that everyone should be free to choose, follow their passions, and avoid things they don't want to do. Ethanos - Over's Secret

Thanks to Ethanos technology, users can operate a node from their PCs, managing blockchain data locally. Ethanos improves the efficiency of the blockchain, reducing storage needs and making it faster. This allows users to set up a full-scale blockchain node on their home computer easily.

The 'state' in the blockchain is like a snapshot of account information needed for transactions. As the blockchain grows, this can become a problem. Ethanos is introduced as a solution, getting rid of inactive accounts to keep things running smoothly.

Ethanos works by distinguishing between active and dormant accounts. It manages the blockchain state through epochs, creating a new set of data for each period, containing only active accounts. Inactive accounts become dormant after two periods, keeping the size of the blockchain in check. It is also powerful because it allows users to build a full node on a personal computer without needing a supercomputer. Unlike other blockchains, Ethanos keeps things small and manageable, making it accessible to more people.

Ways You Can Participate In Over Protocol's Airdrop Campaign

There are currently two (2) ways you can participate in Over Protocol's airdrop campaigns, namely: 1.) Over Community Access Program and 2.) Over Protocol's Open Beta Testnet

Over Community Access Program (OCAP)

Over Protocol introduced the Over Community Access Program (OCAP) to enable more individuals to stake $OVER and engage in the ecosystem as validators. OCAP provides chances for early contributors to the ecosystem to earn $OVER and become part of the Over ecosystem through various quests before the mainnet launch.

All you have to do is download Over Wallet, claim daily rewards and complete tasks to earn your rewards. You can also stake your points to gather more points.

Over Protocol's Open Beta Testnet

The Open Beta Testnet is divided into two seasons, Season 1 and 2. Season 1 is available from December 13th to 22nd, while Season 2 will be rolling out in February next year. Participation in OBT Season 1 is open to everyone, but completion of key missions is reserved for those with a minimum of 30,000 points in OverWallet. To actively partake in the missions of OBT Season 2, start accumulating points in OverWallet. This initiative aims to provide increased opportunities to individuals who have consistently engaged in OverProtocol's ecosystem.

Before Anything -- A Brief Explanation Of The OverNode

OverNode is a user-friendly node client specifically crafted to assist individuals in running Over Protocol nodes directly on their personal computers. With its intuitive user interface and user experience, OverNode ensures that becoming a validator for Over Protocol is a smooth process, eliminating the need for a background in computer science. The official launch of OverNode is scheduled for the first quarter of the upcoming year.

OBT's Key Missions:

Note: It is a REQUIREMENT to download and create an account on OverWallet first before participating in the Open Beta Testnet.

1) Email Verification
Initiate your OverNode experience by confirming your email. Install and open the app (available on over.network) and validate with the same email you used for OverWallet registration to access the main screen. Following verification, you'll be rewarded with OVER (for testing) based on accumulated points. Please note that eligibility for OVER (for testing) during the testnet period operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful completion of your email verification unlocks Mission #2.

2) Connect to OverWallet
Personalize your node’s profile image through your wallet. Follow the provided guide to fulfill these missions. Information, including OverNode's profile image, syncs with OverWallet. Achieving Mission #2 unlocks Mission #3 and #4.

3) Validator Role
Take on the role of a validator by staking 256 OVER (for testing). If you possess sufficient test OVER to become a validator, attempt Mission #3. Bear in mind that a full participant queue may result in a waiting period. Completion of Mission #3 unlocks Mission #7.

4) OVER (for testing) Transfer
Utilize the 'Send' feature to transfer OVER (for testing).
Sending to yourself does not satisfy mission criteria. Find a fellow member of the OverNode community to whom you can transfer OVER (for testing). Any OverNode account holder can be the recipient. Accomplishing Mission #4 unlocks Mission #5.

5) Explore OverView
Discover more about OverView. OverView is a crucial tool for navigating data within OverProtocol. Welcome this new companion for future interactions. Successful completion of Mission #5 unlocks Mission #6.

6) To Survive or to Revive
Revive Ethanosed accounts or evade Ethanos. Ethanos occurs when an account remains inactive for an extended period. Missions are deemed successful by achieving either A or B.
🅰️ Survive — Stay Active for 3 Days: Sustain daily activity by sending and receiving OVER (for testing) for three consecutive days to prevent Ethanos.
🅱️ Revive — Restore an Ethanosed Account: In the case of ethanosed, click the 'Restore' button in the notification to revive the account and complete the mission.

7) Top Validator Operator
Maintain your validators in prime condition. Operate your validator 24/7 for optimal performance and increased income. Rankings and scores impact the airdrop amount. This mission concludes with the Testnet closure.

BONUS: Share Your Know-How
Keep your validator operational and share insights on social media platforms (YouTube, blogs, Instagram, etc.). Submit the content link through the announced Google Form after the testnet concludes. Up to 10 contributors of valuable content to the community will receive the official OverProtocol merchandise set (hoodie, t-shirt, cap, stickers, reusable bag).
