The latest poll released by US media on May 13 showed Trump leading President Biden in 5 of the 6 battleground states.

According to The Hill, polls published by US media on May 13 showed former US president Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in hypothetical confrontations in 5 of the 6 key battleground states.

The New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer poll — conducted from April 28 to May 9 — showed Trump leading Biden in voter approval ratings in Pennsylvania (47 percent to 44 percent), Arizona (49 percent to 42 percent), Michigan (49 percent to 42 percent), Georgia (49 percent to 39 percent) and Nevada (50 percent to 38 percent).

Biden, meanwhile, leads in a battleground state, Wisconsin (47% vs. Trump's 45%).

Americans say Trump was more successful than Biden's

The poll results haven't changed much since the last New York Times/Siena College poll was conducted in October 2023, when former president Donald Trump had a similar lead over Biden in 5 states except Wisconsin. The new poll involved 4,097 registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

In recent weeks, Trump has spent much of his time attending trials accusing him of falsifying business records to pay to silence porn star Stormy Daniels. President Biden, meanwhile, has a packed campaign schedule and has also sought to attack Trump.

Addressing supporters in Seattle on May 11, President Biden said Trump was "deranged" and obsessed with losing the 2020 presidential election. Still, Biden believes the gap between them in next November's election will be narrow

Late last month, CNN published poll results conducted by data services agency SSRS, showing Trump continuing to hold an advantage over Biden. Voter support for Trump still stands at 49 percent in a head-to-head confrontation with Biden, compared to 43 percent for Biden.

Trump leads Biden in 5 battleground states

Polls show former President Trump leading the White House boss in 5 battleground states, states Biden won in 2020. The New York Times, Siena College and Philadelphia Inquirer on May 13 released poll results in 6 battleground states (states that don't lean Republican or Democratic). In Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump all won nearly 50 percent support.

President Joe Biden has between 38 and 44 percent support in those five battleground states, though these are where he won the 2020 election. He only leads Trump in a battleground state, Wisconsin, at 47 percent and 44 percent.

The poll found that issues such as the cost of living, the economy, the Israel-Hamas conflict and immigration have upset many Americans and raised concerns about Biden's ability to improve lives

Nearly 70 percent of voters said major changes were needed to the U.S. political and economic system. 13% of Biden's supporters believe he could bring about that change if he had a second term.

Of the Trump voters surveyed, nearly 40 percent said the economy and cost of living were the most important issues in the election. Many voters admit that even if they don't like Trump, he is still a candidate who can make the necessary changes.

The poll also showed Trump receiving 20 percent support among voters of color, the highest among Republican presidential candidates since 1964. The survey was conducted among 4,097 voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin from April 28 to May 9.

Biden and Trump will be the two candidates representing Democrats and Republicans in the November presidential election. The rematch between the two is considered unpredictable, with both having narrow approval margins in the polls.
