For their next friendly match against the Algerian Desert Foxes on September 27, the Super Eagles' camp is teeming with 18 players.

Ahmed Musa, the team's captain, will sadly be unable to participate in the tournament at Oran due to an injury.

Musa, a player for the Turkish soccer team Sivasspor, has been excluded off the team for the Algeria friendly match after previously being listed by manager Jose Peseiro.

Henry Onyekuru, who is also from Turkey, withdrew from the match owing to an injury, and Leon Balogun and Samuel Chukwueze are also unavailable.

In order to fill in, coach Peseiro has since recalled the four players Valentine Ozornwafor, Godwin Saviour, Ebube Duru, and Emmanuel Dennis.
The Super Eagles and the Foxes both failed to make the World Cup roster in Qatar, but they are eager to use the friendly as a chance to get in shape before the 2023 Nations Cup in Cote d'Ivoire.

Peseiro has been flawless in the AFCON qualification campaign with wins over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe, despite losing his first set of friendlies 2-1 to Mexico and 1-0 to Ecuador.
