Work is good, labor...not so much

Change can be/is scary, but at some point, an extra step is necessary

You already know; after all, this is the same old entrepreneurial cliché. I truly believe that at this stage a big chunk of the population is familiar with Robert Kiyosaki’s “ Poor Dad, Rich Dad”- for F’s sake, everyone is throwing it randomly at conversations, like it is not a big deal, but at the same time expecting the listeners to clap in disbelief at such “intellectual” content.

Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is that there are unwritten rules to this game, and under the premise of sounding even more cliché, the game I am talking about is life. L-I-F-E. However this beautiful 4 letter word, “life” as we know it, is incorporated, by another 4 letter word — W-O-R-K.

Now, don’t take me wrong, I believe in the concept of work — hell; I love working, and I am definitely okay with the concept of working for myself, and even working for others — what I am not okay with, is, the concept of labor.

While working transforms you into a better and improved human being, capable of achieving your wildest dreams (probably uncountable sums of money), labor models you to become a soulless humanoid living in a depressive cycle, self-consciously realizing that time is finite, and we won’t be here forever because deep down labor means self-guilt, settlement, and imprisonment.

So what can you do? Well, it’s easier said than done anon, but you have to break the labor cycle. Is the only way out — unless your daddy has an infinite amount of real estate across the globe, if so, this text is not meant for you.

Important to mention that, I disregard the idea of “waking up every day at 4 AM, running 10KM, before eating your morning avocado toast, and having 9 meetings, all of this, before 11 AM”, however, you do need to find your balance. Find your balance Anon! (Shakes anon in anger).
Balance will catapult your persona, open your horizons, and give you the energy to escape the labor cycle, because little by little, (and ironically) if you put in the work, you will start feeling free, you will start feeling better, you will start feeling capable.

Start playing the game of life, and putting in the work — because that is one of life’s unwritten rules — instead of wandering around, wishing for something better to come your way. Play the game, for 15 minutes every day, and when you feel comfortable with it, start playing some more; and more; and more.

Remember, work is a natural part of life, and with it comes joy, and personal growth. So the point of this text is, get to work and enjoy life!
