How I Built My Online Earning Portfolio One App at a Time
I do not know about you but I have been feeling some anxiety watching the financial headlines lately. Market swings, inflation, and economic uncertainty have a lot of people wondering how to stay ahead, and honestly, traditional investments don’t feel as safe or simple as they used to.
I am constantly on the lookout for new and noteworthy projects that allow you to earn a little extra. These days it is getting easier to find platforms that allow you to earn. The only problem is finding the right ones that are safe and worth the time.
Over the last decade I have found some of the best earning platforms available. I’ve found creative, low-risk ways I can start earning small but steady passive and semi passive income. I know this sounds like a sales pitch but hear me out. I am just a regular guy trying to find ways to earn online. Every little bit counts. Especially when you have a family to take care of.
Why Digital Earning Apps Make Sense Right Now
At first, I was skeptical about earning online because I was finding way more bogus platforms then good ones, but with time and dedication I started to realize there are some diamonds in the ruff if you get what I am saying.
A lot of these sites are flashy, and let’s be honest, most aren’t worth your time. But there are genuine ones out there. Over the years I have used these platforms on a daily basis which has allowed me to build my own portfolio without investing a penny.
The beauty is you can often layer several of these platforms together and watch your rewards add up. For me, the trick has been treating this like a side hustle. Pick what works, automate what you can, and be patient as the earnings grow. Earnings will start off small and not seem worth the time but I have learned with patience and routine the earnings start adding up and allow you to save, invest, or just have a little extra spending money. Keep reading to find out what platforms I use the most and how much I actually earn from them.
My Earnings & Experience
I’ve spent the last decade exploring ways to earn passive or semi-passive income online, but it wasn’t until 2020, when the world slowed down and we were all stuck at home, that I really dove in. Before 2020, I was still dealing with addiction and drifting in and out of focus, but once I got clean and finally took the time to truly research, I discovered just how many legitimate earning opportunities exist out there. If you can imagine it, chances are someone has already turned it into a platform. The real challenge though, is separating the worthwhile ones from the scams and time-wasters.
In this article, I’ll share the projects and platforms that actually pay, break down what I earn from each one monthly, and show whether the effort is worth it. I’ll also include some pro tips I’ve learned along the way. Many of these provide semi-passive returns or small earnings for your time and attention, but real passive income comes from something deeper. Keep reading to find out what that secret is.
The Best Free Apps in My Passive Income Portfolio
Below is a list that shows some of my favorite projects I am using and how much I am earning from each one. I started using projects a while ago and I realized you can earn a decent small amount from each one. Nothing life changing but it beats watching shorts all day you know. Also when adding each platform together it starts adding up. These platforms have allowed me to start a small portfolio and has allowed me to get my hands in a market that was once only for the wealthy.
ZBD (formally known as ZEBEDEE)
Earn bits of Bitcoin (SATs) by playing sponsored games or joining tournaments. It’s based on the Lightning Network, making payouts quick and private. Rewards aren’t huge, but it’s passive and fun especially if you’re gaming already. I earn around $1 to $3 each month depending on how much I use it.
ZBD has a bunch of games you can earn from and a daily question you can anwer for some SATs (satoshis — the smallest form of Bitcoin). My favorite one is called Bitcoin Miner though. You earn roughly around 100 sats a day from it. Might not sound like much but if Bitcoin sticks around that small amount could add up. There are many more games as well. I just enjoy Bitcoin Miner the most.
Browse to Earn
Slice is a one of a kind project and is extremely easy to use. Install the browser extension, let small ads quietly display, and earn “Slices,” which convert to cash or crypto. It’s passive, just browse as usual! Some months are better than others, but I’ve seen others earn up to $11 just for routine internet use. Personally I earn around $1 to $3 each month. I am not on my computer as much these days so I am sure I could earn more. A secret for this is to use it with the Brave browser. Not only will you earn from Slice but you will also earn from Brave.
Walk To Earn
These reward you with crypto just for walking or watching sponsored videos. They’re slow earners, but if you’re active daily, the rewards can build up over time.
Sweat Wallet — One of my first walk to earn apps. I earn around $1 a month in their token called SWEAT that uses the NEAR blockchain.
Scambly — Pays for walking and offers quick cash-out and a variety of tasks. I had a great experience (with quick customer service support when needed), and the rewards align well with daily activity. This is by far my favorite walk to earn apps. I earn around $4 to $5 a month depending on how much I walk. Check out my Scambly Article to learn more.
Stellar Walk — This is one of the lower paying walk to earn apps. I earn roughly $0.20 a month in Stellar Lumens. The amount seems small but it allows people to get into Crypto without having to invest.
Faucets
Back when Crypto first started to grow you could find Faucets everywhere. Now it is getting harder to find legit faucets that are safe and worth the time.
Cointiply — Cointiply is a multifaceted online platform that allows users to earn cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Dash, and Litecoin, by completing a variety of simple online tasks. After registering, users can earn “Coins,” the platform’s internal currency, through activities such as playing games, taking surveys, watching ads, engaging with offerwalls, completing paid-to-click tasks, and more. These Coins can then be converted and withdrawn to your crypto wallet once the minimum payout threshold is reached, with no withdrawal fees. Cointiply incorporates additional features like daily bonuses, loyalty rewards, a referral program, and the option to earn interest on larger balances, making it an accessible and gamified way to start earning cryptocurrency online.
FaucetPay — FaucetPay is a Micropayment Wallet & Earnings Platform. It allows you to connect to multiple faucets and gives you an online wallet where you can hold, send, and recieve Crypto. One thing you need to know is that FaucetPay is a great platform but the earning websites you can use can be dangerous. Be very careful what earning websites you use. A good amount are not worth the time. FaucetPay is used by multiple earning websites though and is good to have when withdrawing from earning platforms such as the ones below.
FaucetCrypto — FaucetCrypto is a Crypto earning platform that allows you to earn small amounts of Crypto using their faucet, PTC section, and other ways to earn. Withdrawals are small and when you are ready you can withdraw right to your FaucetPay wallet.
VieFaucet — VieFaucet is just like FaucetCrypto. Same idea just different layout. Easy way to earn small amount of Crypto and withdraw to your FaucetPay wallet.
These offer regular crypto payouts for small actions and viewing ads. Easy, no nonsense, and you can cash out often, ideal for building up a micro crypto portfolio. I always suggest using the Brave Browser when using sites like this. Brave has a shield that blocks popups and helps keep you secure when using websites like these. You will still earn from viewing the website but you will be shielded from the websites that open.
Game to Earn
Cryptocurrency is allowing people to earn from things we once were not able to earn from. Gaming has been around since 1958 when the first game called Tennis for Two was released. Games have evolved since then in major ways. The latest evolution in gaming has come from Blockchain. Allowing these games to turn in game currency into real digital money. Allowing your in game assets to be truly owned by you. Personally I think in the next 5 to 10 years Blockchain is going to change gaming as we know it but lets save that idea for another article.
Chainers — A simple, addictive farming game that pays small crypto rewards. Fun for gamers looking for a little something extra.
Pixels — Pixles is one of my favorite games. It has grown quite large since it was released. I play this game because it is fun and not for the rewards. This game uses the Ronin Blockchain and allows you to earn a token called Pixel. The amount you earn depends on how much you play the game and how far you grow in the game.
The only problem with Pixels is when you want to withdraw, the fee to withdraw is half of what you have. Right now I have 900 Pixels in my in game wallet. If I want to withdraw the fee is going to be 450 PIXEL! I am not to happy about this. Pixels uses the Ronin Blockchain so fees and transactions should be extremely small. Not sure why they are charging so much to withdraw. You can use the PIXEL token in game as well if you want. Like I said this game is more fun then earning.
Social Media
The Arena — The Arena is a socialFi project that uses the Avalanche Blockchain. You can earn multiple different ways from this project. Check out one of my previous articles to learn more.
Tangled — Tangled is a socialFi project that uses DAG (directed acyclic graph) technology.
There are multiple ways to earn from this platform and the community is strong and supportive. Learn more by watching the video above.
Cryptonaut — Cryptonaut is a fairly new social platform.
It uses the Cardano Blockchain and allows you to earn small amounts from being active on the platform.
So what is the secret to true passive earning. The secret is sharing these platforms you use with your friends, family, and anyone that can listen. Not only will they start to earn a little extra each month but you will start earning a passive income from them using your link and staying active. Referrals is what will get you true passive income. Now let me warn you before you get to excited. Sharing these links is time consuming and can take serious time before you see any progress. One friend at a time, one article at a time, one video at a time, and the earnings will slowly start building up. I do suggest only sharing platforms you use and know are safe and rewarding. If you share good projects and platforms then what you say actually starts to matter to some people. This is where my last earning method comes in handy.
Blogging to Earn
Blogging has been around since the mid 1990’s. It has grown over the years. I use a couple platforms that allow me to write about anything your heart desires. You can write about your hobbies, your thoughts, cooking recipes, the world, and pretty much anything you can think of. I like to write about world topics, Cryptocurrency, and sharing platforms I earn a small amount from. Sharing your links in these articles can be a game changer. Not only does it help people find legit projects to earn from but it starts to create a small passive income for you over time. I can not stress this enough though, only share platforms you use and are worth talking about. We all know BULB which is my favorite blogging platform so far. Here are two other ones I use on a daily basis.
PublishOX — PublishOX is a blogging website anyone can use and allows you to earn Crypto from writing and reading. You can tip each article you read and every time you post an article the more people read and tip the more you will earn. I earn around $1 to $3 a month depending on how much I use the platform.
Medium — Medium is a more well known blogging platform. It is hard to earn from Medium but it is a great way to get your articles out to the general public.
Total Monthly & Yearly Earnings
So how much do I earn all together each month from all of these? I am going to give you a ball park because finding the true number has been a little difficult.
ZBD — $2
Slice — $3
Walk to Earn — $5.20
Faucets — $3
Social — $3
Game to Earn — $1 (this is a rough estimate)
Blogging to Earn — $3 + referral earnings for each platform
So the total comes to roughly $20.20 a month. That is roughly an extra $242 a year, plus whatever I earn from people using my links. Not bad for sticking to a routine and using a couple apps a day.
I use some of my earnings to invest in different Cryptocurrencies to help build a small portfolio. I also save some of what I earn as a rainy day fund. Earning apps are growing and the ability to earn micropayments online is growing as well. Cryptocurrency is opening a whole new way to earn online.
This is a rough idea of how much I earn each month. I am sharing this to show proof that these platforms add up when used together. By creating a routine and sharing your referrals you have a chance to earn a little extra each month.
Projects I’m Watching
I am keeping an eye on some projects that truly have potential to change how the world works. I use a small amount of my earnings and put them into these projects each month. I also invest in different tokens but that might be for another article. These projects use the Cardano Blockchain. It is a next level Blockchain that is one of the most decentralized. The only problem I have found is the transaction fees are a little high. As time goes on and the Blockchain evolves I think the fees will go down as well.
Iagon
A Cardano blockchain venture focused on decentralized cloud and storage, still early, but their tech could be game-changing.
PALM
A project I’m personally staking on Cardano, aimed at tokenizing commodities. It’s got solid fundamentals, but like all new ventures, deserves careful tracking before making big moves.
I am also keeping a close eye on Cardano. I have a good feeling this Blockchain is actually about changing the world for the people. A good amount of these Blockchain projects are for profit and do not care about fixing things and looking out for the little people. Cardano has a strong community and people building world changing platforms on its infrastructure.
Final Thoughts
It can be overwhelming sorting through all the ways to earn online, but my advice is simple. Start small, be consistent, and don’t overlook those apps that seem to pay just a trickle. In my experience, combining several platforms is the secret. Right now, I’m earning about $18 a month just by using a couple extra apps and websites, plus extra crypto from browsing and playing games. That might sound minor, but with enough apps and patience, those little bits add up, and grow into a real semi passive and passive income. This allows me to start building a portfolio without having to invest any money. It is crazy because these days your time and attention is actually worth something.
