They try to declare the Bengali language as their national language and due to this incident War arises between West Pakistan and East Pakistan.

East Pakistan wanted its own independence and declared its provisional government of Bangladesh and sought to disconnect from Pakistan. The Pakistani armed forces retaliated and an armed conflict followed. During this war, more than three million people were killed.

After winning the war with Pakistan, Bangladesh becomes an independent state.

British rule for more than 100 years

Mughal power decline and the British come into Power and enter as the East India Company. After winning the battle with the Mughal most of the south Asia parts come under the East India Company (British). British has a big plan to increase agriculture in Bangladesh but due to huge disasters occurring randomly in Bangladesh, they stop their plan.

In Bangladesh famine occurred at a time of floods and drought and millions of people died of starvation. British try to improve various sectors such as health, hygiene hospital, medical in Bengal but World War 2 hit again.

When the Japanese gobbled up British, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Burma thousand of refugees arrived in Bangor. The refugees destroy 600000 Bengali boats as a precaution against the Japanese invasion. This destroyed the livelihoods of innumerable fishermen and river traders.

Meanwhile, the Japanese bombed Chittagong and Calcutta, and thousand of Bengali were kicked off their land and become a shelter in other countries.

At that period, another natural disaster cyclone destroyed the rice crop in Bangladesh and over 3 million would die of the feminine. That period is considered the black time of Bangladesh.

After the independence of India

In 1947 Indian become independent from the British and Hindu and Muslims could not stay together. And Muslim people want a separate country for Muslims. At that period, one part of India get separated called Pakistan (West Pakistan and East Pakistan).

Furthermore, East Pakistan is also called the Muslim East Bengal and most of the people are Bengalis in East Bengal. At that time, Pakistan government elites of big Pakistan considered the Bengalis to be culturally inferior and wanted Urdu to be the only official language. Even though only some of the people spoke the Urdu language and most of the people in east Pakistan spoke the Bengali language. 56% spoke Bengali and 3% spoke Urdu at that time in East Pakistan.

That is the main reason Bengalis people want a new country that has its own culture and traditions. In 1971, East Pakistan would get its freedom and become the newly independent state of Bangladesh. Pakistan try to capture east Pakistan during that day but with the help and support of India, the war is won by Bangladesh.

More than 3 million people died for their country in the independence war of 1971.

Bangladesh gets its own Prime Minister (Tajuddin Ahmad) and the Bengali language become its national language. During the Tajuddin Ahmad period, there is inflation and famine followed in Bangladesh.
