These are a few ways in which you can boost your self-confidence.

Face your fears: Stop putting off things like asking someone out on a date or applying for a promotion until you feel more confident. One of the most effective ways to boost your confidence in these situations is to confront your fears.
Face some of your fears related to a lack of self-confidence. Even if you're afraid of embarrassing yourself or making a mistake, try anyway. A little self-doubt can even help you perform better. Tell yourself it's just a test to see what happens.

Do things you excel at: What happens when you do things you excel at? Your self-esteem begins to soar. Your strengths become even stronger, which boosts your self-esteem. Taking this approach has another advantage: it can increase your level of satisfaction with your life.
According to one study, believing in your ability to build on your personal strengths is moderately related to levels of life satisfaction. This begins with identifying those strengths. Then, by engaging with them on a regular basis, you can work to strengthen them.

Set realistic goals: Pursuing your goals often entails failing several times before figuring out what works. This may cause you to question whether you have what it takes to succeed. It may also leave you wondering how you can be more confident while still achieving your goals. Setting realistic goals is the solution. Setting lofty goals and failing to meet them has been shown to erode confidence. Realistic goals, on the other hand, are attainable. And the more you achieve your objectives, the more confident you will be in yourself and your abilities.

Know when to say no: While doing things you're good at can boost your confidence, it's also important to recognize situations that can cause it to plummet. Perhaps you notice that whenever you engage in a certain activity, you feel worse about yourself rather than better.
It's fine to say no to activities that sap your self-esteem. You certainly don't want to avoid doing anything that makes you uncomfortable, because discomfort is often a necessary part of the personal growth process. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with knowing and sticking to your boundaries.
