I dreamt her lips brushed mine, warm and slow. “You’ve grown into everything I imagined,” she whispered. My hands reached out—nothing there. I woke up breathless, sheets tangled, the scent of her perfume on my pillow. A single red lipstick rolled off the bed… still warm.

THE QUESTION SHE FEARED

She finally asked, “Do you still love me?” He put down his phone and looked at her.

“I love you,” he said quietly.

“But I don't know when we stopped being husband and wife and became two people simply sharing a house.” Her heart sank.

Then he added, “And I know exactly when it started…”

WHEN LOVE BECAME SILENCE

She felt her heart crack. “Then why did you let me suffer alone?” she whispered through tears.

He looked away, ashamed. “Because I thought providing for you was enough.

I didn't realize you were starving for my attention.” She reached for his hand, but he pulled away.

“There’s one more thing I never told you…”
