On somedays we feel a whole lot of emotions that we can't fully process. On other days we feel nothing at all. Finding the middle ground in between these absolutes is a constant hustle but do we really need to always find a balance?

I think one of the best ways to help others is, when listening, allow the focus of the conversation to remain on them until they are done. Resist the urge to say, "Oh yeah, that happened to me too" and hijacking their conversation. There is a better time for that. When people are venting, they just want to be heard and understood. Something I'm going to try to be better at.
