After dodging the virus for years, I finally caught COVID again, and this time it hit harder than ever. The fatigue is relentless, a heavy curtain that makes even the simplest tasks feel monumental. My body aches, and the fog clouding my mind is suffocating. Isolation creeps in once more, but this time, the emotional toll feels heavier. On day 3 and it's a battle, reminding me of the fragility of health and the importance of connection. Here's to hoping I'm coming round to the home stretch.

Significance
Intermediate filaments such as vimentin are key contributors to cell mechanics. These filaments are continuously assembled and disassembled by the cell as it grows and moves. While the assembly process is relatively well characterized, here we investigate their much less understood disassembly.
