The cybersecurity market was jolted last week after Anthropic announced its new AI model found 500 previously unknown high-risk vulnerabilities hidden in widely used software.

What came next was just as dramatic as the markets crashed for several major cybersecurity firms. Investors reacted as though AI would displace commercial security tools and services as we know them.
