DOP Launches Public Testnet with Airdrop Incentives

To spur adoption before their mainnet launch in Q1 2024, DOP has created a public testnet version of their protocol.
Just by signing up and using the testnet before January 2024, you can qualify to receive around 1% of the total DOP token supply as a free airdrop!
Considering DOP’s latest $43 million funding round led by Animoca Brands, the airdrop tokens could be worth around $500K.
I’ll walk through step-by-step how to participate in DOP’s testnet airdrop program.

Step 1: Create a DOP Testnet Wallet

First, go to DOP’s testnet site and click “Create New Wallet”.
Set a wallet password and record the recovery phrase. This will generate a MetaMask-compatible wallet to use on the testnet.

Step 2: Get Testnet ETH from the DOP Faucet

Since this is a testnet environment, you’ll need simulated ETH instead of real ETH.
DOP provides a faucet to receive testnet ETH automatically. Just click the “Claim Testnet ETH” button and 0.08 ETH will be sent to your wallet.

Step 3: Claim Test DOP Tokens

To transact on DOP’s testnet, you need test DOP tokens. Click the “Claim Test DOP” button to receive an initial amount.

Step 4: Encrypt Test Assets

Now we can try DOP’s confidential transaction feature for the first time.
Go to the “Encrypt Assets” section and select a test token like USDT. Enter an amount like 5000 to encrypt.
Approve the encryption operation when prompted. This shields the tokens, hiding the balance and transactions.

Step 5: Send Encrypted Test Assets

Under “Send Encrypted Assets”, pick the newly encrypted tokens.
Enter any testnet address in the recipient field and amount to send. This simulates a private transfer on DOP.

Step 6: Decrypt Received Assets

To access received encrypted assets, head to “Decrypt Received Assets”.
Type in the testnet account that sent you the private transfer. This will decrypt the tokens, revealing the balances again.

Step 7: Invite Friends to Join

Finally, invite at least 3 friends to participate in DOP’s testnet. You’ll earn a 20% bonus on their activities!
Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be eligible for DOP’s airdrop when their mainnet launches. Make sure to follow DOP’s social channels for updates on the official launch date.
