How Sanity Mining Works (Two Main Layers)
Sanity Mining is a core component of the @sanity_united(Sanity United) ecosystem design to intelligently utilize surplus renewable energy in a sustainable, circular way. Unlike traditional crypto mining (often criticized for high energy waste and emissions), Sanity Mining optimizes excess clean power that would otherwise go unused, turning it into productive revenue while supporting real-world operations.
How Sanity Mining Works (Two Main Layers)

1. Mobile Layer (In-Vehicle / Onboard Mining) πβ‘
- Miners (mining hardware) are integrated directly into the project's electric vehicle (EV) fleet.
- When EVs are parked, charging, or idle (waiting for the next errand/task from Sanity Care), the onboard miners activate.
- Powered entirely by the vehicle's battery (charged via solar/wind renewables) or during charging sessions.
- This turns "idle time" into productive hash power β no extra energy draw from the grid, zero added emissions.
- Example: EVs spend significant time parked β mining runs quietly in the background using green energy only.
2. Stationary Layer (Fixed Mining Farm)π
- A dedicated onsite mining farm operates at or near renewable energy hubs.
- Powered exclusively by surplus renewable energy (excess solar/wind production not needed for EV charging, errands, or other services).
- Redirects energy that would be curtailed/wasted into compute power for crypto mining.

Both layers are managed centrally by Sanity AI:
