Ultra Introduces Resellable Tokenized Game Licenses

Ultra, a platform merging blockchain and traditional Web2 gaming, has unveiled a groundbreaking digital PC game that pioneers reselling through tokenized licenses. This pioneering move marks a pivotal point in gaming, showcasing a unique application of NFTs.

The platform is rolling out this feature with ‘Josh Journey: Darkness Totems,’ a well-received Beat ’em up game, previously accessible on Steam and consoles. Starting tomorrow, the game becomes tradeable on Ultra’s platform.

Each game’s digital license is represented by a distinct NFT (Non-Fungible Token) on Ultra’s layer-1 blockchain, derived from EOS. Termed as “Uniq” by Ultra, this NFT legally transfers the game’s play rights to the new owner upon resale.

Ultra’s solution addresses a persistent gaming industry issue: the inability to resell digital games. Through tokenization, Ultra aims to establish a resale standard that benefits developers and gamers alike.

NFTs present developers who participate in the system with fresh revenue streams, enabling them to earn from resales and govern elements like royalty distribution.
