Flue Gas to Renewable Energy

This is our world and we have to consider it. There are many renewable energy resources such as , solar,wind,hydro,biomass,geothermal but there is also a possibility to produce green energy with using energy efficiency!

Energy efiiciency projects are the cheapest green energy resources. Today lets talk about the flue gases. Everyday millions of tons flue gas sending to the atmosphere and polluting and warming our air. First off all we all have to say this is our atmosphere not any other one. You can be Chinese or American or Turkish but you are using the same atmosphere so everyone is responsible about this topic.

The first duty is we have to use the energy in flue gas as much as possible. Normal flue gas temperature is 300°C-500°C this is too much and there are still convertible energy in this.

1.Thermal Energy Production: You can convert your flue gas energy to the thermal energy by using an economiser. This is proper for also low flow of flue gases. You can provide hot water to your facilities by using this system and possible to decrease flue gas until 150°C. This will provide you 2 main benefit; First you will recover your heat and gain free energy from your waste heat and second you will sen colder gas to the atmosphere and pollution will be less as well.

2. Electricity Production: Yes you can produce green electricity from your flue gases. There is 2 option ; 1- You can use a steam drum and produce high pressure steam from your flue gas and send to steam a steam expander to produce electricity. This is proper for high flow and high temperature applications. The second option is using an ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) system. ( I will deeply explain this systems in future) You can use this option if your flow is not too much but event this flow you want to produce green electricity from your flue gases you should use ORC systems. There will be a hot water cycle, hot water heated by flue gas and send to the ORC system to convert its thermal energy to electrical energy.

I will write more about this topic because producing renewable energy from every possible thing is very important for our world and our future.
