Roger Federer retires from tennis

Roger Federer announced his retirement from tennis on Thursday, and Rafael Nadal said it was "an honour" to have "wonderful moments" with him.
Nadal posted on Twitter, "Dear Roger, my buddy and rival, I wish this day would never have occurred." It has been a pleasure, as well as an honour and a privilege, to spend these years with you, experiencing so many incredible moments both on and off the court.
Roger Federer, a tennis legend from Switzerland, said on Thursday that he will retire after the Laver Cup the next week. He announced it on his Twitter account: "The Laver Cup next week in London will be my final ATP event."
The 20-time Grand Slam champion, 41, has been out since losing in the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2021 before requiring more knee surgery. The tennis community will truly miss him dearly because he recorded lots of wonderful moments in the Tennis world.
