Nigeria U-23 team begin training ahead of Tanzania qualifier

Tuesday, in preparation for their 2023 Africa U-23 Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania, the U-23 national team held their first practice at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

With many of the invited players already in camp, coach Salisu Yusuf took leadership of the practice.

The Nigerian U-23 team will prepare for eight days, before jetting out Oct 18 for the first leg in Dar es Salaam, scheduled for the weekend of October 21-23, 2022.

A final squad for the game will be selected before the team departs.
On October 29, Nigeria will host Tanzania at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan for the second leg.

Morocco will host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in June 2023.

The top three teams advance to Paris 2024 as qualifiers for the men's football competition at the Olympic Games.
