Coinbase Wallet Quests - Base and Optimism Opportunities

If you are a Coinbase user for as long as I was... you will remember the sweet Learn2Earn campaigns that were available for 99% of the users. The earning opportunities moved to Coinbase Wallet, where users can connect to DeFi and explore multiple chains.

I earned over $35 in OP not long ago and it looks like most of the quests are focusing this chain. Why? Because the Optimism layer-2 chain is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain but has cheap fees and faster transactions. This is possible because the transactions will happen on Optimism, but the data is posted to Ethereum and validated on mainnet.

Completed the initial quests long time ago, and staked my $OP tokens on Yearn Finance for auto-compounding rewards. Yearn is a decentralized suite of products helping individuals, DAOs, and other protocols earn yield on their digital assets. Time to try another protocol and see how good if the optimistic farming.

The Base hype was the next big thing, and a series of smaller quests were added on Coinbase Wallet. Most of them were to mint NFTs, and I must say I like collecting non-fungible tokens. My Coinbase collection keeps growing, and must admit that the satisfaction is higher when you earn extra rewards for minting.

I constantly check Coinbase Wallet as users don't get notifications for new quests. This is how I found two new ones, and the opportunity to earn $12 worth of crypto. Minting a musical NFT and getting $10 in $OP is a win-win scenario, and getting $2 worth of ETH on Base is good as well.

I've done both quickly, earned some free crypto and staked the $OP on Yearn. The Coinbase portfolio is growing nicely, and I am patiently waiting for new quests to be added. I think some quests are activated based on the user's location, as I seen others completing different quests than my ones.

Coinbase Wallet started to be a bastion of crypto earnings, with new quests being constantly added on the dashboard. It requires active participation and I like this style more than the classic Learn2Earn quests.

This time I had the pleasure to explore Base and try one of the native DEXs... RAI Finance. The decentralized cross-chain exchange aims to deliver a versatile suite of financial solutions to DeFi protocols. Their ecosystem is powered by the $SOFI token, and I was able to earn some through two quests.

I received $3 worth of $SOFI for creating a portfolio on Rai Finance, and the same amount for swapping some $ETH on Soswap. I decided to keep the tokens and see how it goes, and their value doubled already.

Currently holding 515 $SOFI tokens, ETH on various chains and a nice amount of $ACX, $OP and $GRT staked on the Coinbase non-custodial wallet. Still have Compound USDC from the first ever quest, one of those assets on mainnet that will not touch due to gas fees.
