During the catabolic phase, the body utilizes available energy reserves, including amino acids from muscle proteins, to provide energy and nutrients to cells. This can lead to muscle loss if catabolism is not offset by adequate nutrient intake and sufficient recovery.


To maximize muscle building, it's essential to balance these two phases. This involves providing your body with the necessary nutrients, such as proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, to support the anabolic phase while minimizing stress factors that could trigger excessive catabolism.
