WW3

The issue of World War 3 (WW3) often feels like a constant “push and pull” because global tensions are high, but they haven’t reached the level of an open world war.
Several factors make the WW3 narrative keep appearing:

  1. Ongoing major wars – Conflicts like Ukraine vs Russia and the war in Gaza involve global interests indirectly.
  2. US–China tensions – The rivalry between the United States and China over technology, trade, and Taiwan increases fears of escalation.
  3. Active military alliances – The involvement of blocs like NATO means regional conflicts could potentially expand.
  4. Modern warfare is different – Today’s conflicts include cyber warfare, economic sanctions, and information warfare. It feels more like a “new cold war” rather than a traditional world war.

In my view, the world is currently in a phase of high but controlled tension. Major powers understand that a full-scale world war—especially with nuclear weapons—would be catastrophic for everyone. That’s why we see more political pressure, economic battles, and proxy wars instead of direct declarations of war.
What seems more realistic in the near term is:

  • Prolonged regional conflicts
  • Economic and technological warfare
  • Growing global polarization

It feels like a strategic balancing act rather than an imminent global war.
