Starting out at the gym

So I got into the cycle of going to the gym regularly around 4 or 5 times per week depending on my mood. I have only been going for just under 2 months but I have noticed a lot of changes excluding just general physique progression.

I had always wanted to get into the habit of going to the gym but I was lacking the momentum to get me going and into a regular cycle all the way from scratch. If I were to not take it too seriously and only go once or twice a week then I would get into the habit of feeling like it is okay to skip this day if you aren't feeling like it. Next thing you know... you don't do weights anymore. Granted this was when I was trying to do it with just weights at home so it is a much different story, nonetheless the case. After moving homes which was conveniently quite close to a gym, I got a one year membership and the rest was history. Essentially obliged to go as much as I could which turned out to be a great thing.

Nearly two months down the line and I have seen a lot of progression, though these are just considered newbie gains for now. Outside of that, I feel like I have more energy in my day and it has also helped me get a decent sleep cycle since I feel more obliged to prioritise sleep for the sake of energy levels and growth. On days where I go to the gym in the morning or in the middle of the day, it sets my day up nicely so I can completely skip that middle of the day lethargy on days where I'm not doing anything. On days where I go later in the evening or at night, it sets me up for a good sleep as I feel inclined to sleep earlier since I am incredibly tired.

I think everyone should give the gym a go, whether it's to lose weight, get in shape, get stronger or just have something to fill your day in that you can feel good about after!
