This is the land once ruled by Nebuchadnezzar. The land of civilization, where history began.

But today, that civilization is gone. Because Iraq is now ruled by the corrupt, by thieves. Our country was lost after the era of its great rulers — from Nebuchadnezzar to Nuri al-Said to King Faisal II.

Now, the Iraqi people are dying of hunger.

An employee in Iraq cannot truly live. He cannot save money, he cannot travel, he cannot even build a house.

And those without a salary? They are truly dying from hunger. Some work day and night just to survive, and it is never enough.

Iraq is lost, O people, after the rulers I have mentioned.
