When it comes to love, most people believe that they should love their partners unconditionally and do anything for them. Unconditional love, on the other hand, isn't always healthy because it can lead to a situation in which the person has to accept everything their partner does, no matter what.
Although it may seem counterintuitive, setting boundaries with your partner is essential for maintaining a healthy relationship. Boundaries are intangible lines that protect you emotionally, intellectually, physically, and in other ways.

Types of boundaries in relationships

Emotional boundaries protect each partner's right to have their own thoughts, feelings, and values without being dismissed, mocked, or invalidated. We may believe that our partner's emotions and feelings are our responsibility, but it's critical to establish emotional boundaries to distinguish what is and isn't under our control. Accepting responsibility for your own feelings while refusing to accept responsibility for your partner's emotions is an example of emotional boundaries.
