Hacker shock in the UK: Information exposed

The British press announced that a system belonging to the British Ministry of Defense was cyber-attacked and important information of military personnel was stolen.


There is a hacker shock in the UK. According to reports in the British press, there was a significant data breach due to hacking, including personal information of military personnel on duty.

INFORMATION DISCLOSED

Unauthorized access to and disclosure of a payroll system containing the names and bank details of a number of current and former members of the armed forces.

Following the incident, the Ministry of Defense took immediate action and the system was deactivated while investigations continue. It is not known what the data obtained can be used for.

The British government has not revealed who was behind the attack.

Meanwhile, MPs in the UK parliament will be informed about the data breach involving the Ministry of Defense and targeting service personnel.

ARROWS POINTED AT CHINA

British Sky News television suggested that China was behind the cyber attack.

Speaking in parliament on March 25, Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden stated that “actors linked to the Chinese state” were behind two separate malicious cyber-attacks on both the UK's election watchdog and MPs.
