Despite Anthony Joshua lost his title rematch to the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk last month, Tyson Fury has stated that an all-British fight with Joshua is still a possibility. Usyk defeated Joshua by decision to win the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles in September of last year, and the undefeated Ukrainian outpointed the 32-year-old once more to win the titles back last month. Usyk, 35, and WBC champion Fury could square off in the future to determine who will be the undisputed heavyweight champion, however Fury has said he may fight someone else in December first before facing Usyk in 2019.
Fury is prepared to fight Joshua if a hypothetical fight with Usyk doesn't take place and thinks that fans are still hungry to see the heavyweights square battle in the ring. He announced on social media on Monday that he would fight Antony Joshua for the WBC heavyweight championship if his preparations to face Oleksandr Usyk in a unification match were delayed. Tyson Fury, also known as the Gypsy King, declared himself the world's heavyweight champion in a video uploaded to Instagram while sporting his belts.

You've probably all heard that I'll be fighting in the next months, but I feel like I should do something first, just in case, before revealing my opponent. Since you recently lost to Usyk and are currently without a belt, Anthony Joshua, I'd like to offer you the chance to compete against me for the WBC heavyweight world championship over the next few months. You just finished a 12-round fight, so you're in shape and prepared. If you're interested, I'll send you the date so we can have a rumble and a battle of Britain for the WBC title. I'm giving you a few months' notice.
Tell me if you're interested, please. If not, I'll pick a another foe. I appreciate that very much. Good night. It's been rumored for a while that Fury and Joshua will fight. If it were to happen, Joshua would have a fantastic opportunity to redeem himself after losing three of his previous five matches after winning each of his first 22.
