A huge hamburger... Crispy fries on the side... A pack of chocolates... Colorful candies... Are you craving it? Let's find out why.

It's not your fault that you can't stand burgers and cola.

We all know how big a problem obesity is today all over the world.

One of the most important triggers of this situation and the health problems it brings lies, of course, in our diet. Easy to access, generally cheap but unhealthy foods have a place in all of our lives. We can give examples of this: packaged foods or carelessly prepared and unhealthy fast food meals.

Most of us fall into this trap when we see a hot slice of pizza or a huge, stuffed hamburger.

Usually, this is not because we like the taste of what we eat, but because of the pleasure it creates in us. We must say that these foods, which have common and cheap options, are not made with very appetizing ingredients, and even a few surprise ingredients are added to make you 'addicted' to these products.

So, what are the 'surprise' ingredients in this dish?

In fact, the addictive things they put in what we eat are not very different from the things we use in daily life, in fact, you may be surprised when we say, only the amount of their use is so skillfully adjusted that these ingredients make us captive to that food. If we have aroused enough curiosity, how about we get to know these little enemies of ours?

What we are talking about is nothing but sugar, salt and fat. But this formula also has a special name: Pleasure point.

We may have difficulty stopping ourselves from consuming foods in which these three things are perfectly adjusted. What attracts us to a hamburger is the feeling of pleasure created in our mouth by the carefully calculated amount of fat and salt, rather than the meat inside the burger. We can also call this the 'mouthfeel' of what we eat; for example, the amount of fat determines the softness of a cake or the crispness of a French fry.

These foods that we cannot resist aim to reach maximum consumption without keeping us full.

Even though they trick your brain and give you pleasure, these foods can harm your body and have negative effects on your brain functions in the long run. According to research, large amounts of salt, sugar and fat consumed unconsciously; It can cause mood swings and even lead to depression.

These companies targeting the pleasure point may seem like organizations with 'evil' purposes to you.

But no one is trying to kill you by feeding you unhealthy food. Like every commercial enterprise, these food companies aim to sell their products to you for as long as possible and in as many quantities as possible. Although it may seem like a conspiracy theory, research is constantly being carried out and formulas are being tested so that you need the products produced by these companies.

So how can we fight these elements that threaten our health?

Of course, after determining that the problem may be caused by these foods, one of the first steps of the solution will be to stop consuming these foods, or at least reduce consumption. One way to do this is to act consciously and carefully weigh the effects of what you eat on your body as you begin to change your nutritional preferences.

Once you get past the mental part, you will now need to take action.

Keeping up with new eating habits won't be easy, but every step you take can create significant changes for your health. If you include fruits and vegetables in your diet, consume quality fat and enough protein, and on top of everything else, if you get the opportunity to move and exercise regularly, there will be serious positive improvements in your health.

Finally, accept and love yourself, and don't blame yourself for your nutritional choices.

You can still pamper yourself and experience the pleasure point with occasional getaways, and you shouldn't punish yourself for it. While you're changing your current habits and trying to become healthier, you shouldn't hate the person you are.

Hope you take good care of yourself
