Q: When and why did you start airdrop farming?
A: I see airdrop farming as a stable income source, regardless of the market’s ups and downs.
Let me explain: airdrops happen both in bear and bull markets. Sure, they’re more frequent and larger during bull runs, but you can still profit from airdrops even when the market’s down.
That’s why, about 1.5 years ago, I decided to put together a team dedicated solely to airdrop farming.
Q: What are your top airdrop wins?
A: I’ve had some notable ones such as $2m $STRK, $300k $BLUR, $180k $ARB, $120k $APT, and $120k $OP. Currently, I operate between 100 to 2500 wallets, engaging them in various activities depending on how confident we are in the likelihood of a project’s airdrop.
Q: Do you manually farm airdrops or use software? A: I predominantly use software for my operations. Of course, my team still gets their hands dirty with manual work when it’s just not feasible to whip up software on the fly. This usually happens when we’re up against a tight deadline and my devs can’t pull together solid software quick enough.
Q: What projects are you farming now? A: I’m currently farming over 45 projects, including L1s, L2s, DeFi protocols, and GameFi. No need to list them all, no hidden gems here. My focus? VCs-backed giants like zkSync, Scroll, Linea. If VCs put in $10m+, I’m probably farming it. Points farming, LP adding, DEX perps trading, and more — I do it all.
Q: What are your best airdrops picks now? A: It’s quite challenging to make precise predictions because it’s uncertain how many tokens a project will distribute and what their value might be. Nonetheless, I recommend looking into perp DEXs and projects that require liquidity locking, such as
@elixir,@build_on_bob, and@superformxyz.
Keep an eye not only on the TVL but also on the user base. Even with a $300-$500, you have a good chance of receiving a substantial airdrop if the project has a small user count.
Q: What do you think about free activities and testnets?
A: Testnets? Waste of time. Easy to farm with software, but the competition is fierce. I rarely participate in testnets because only 1/20 can truly reward its users.
My focus is primarily on projects’ mainnets.
Q: How do you see the further development of airdrop farming?
A: I think airdrops aren’t going anywhere because they’re just one of many possible go-to-market strategies for a project. It’s a very effective model because it helps the project gather a loyal community from the start and retain this community after the airdrop.
Projects announce farming seasons for tokens pre-TGE to capitalize on this traffic. Sustaining post-TGE traction is key. Community happiness is crucial; linear airdrops could result in dips, but innovative models like @EtherFi‘s drive TVL up.
Q: Can you give some tips for airdrop farmers?
A: Focus on 2 key factors:
➢ Amount of money the project has raised
➢ Level of competition E.g. If you come across a project with a $300M TVL but only $3M raised, I would avoid getting involved
➜ They might lack funds for a significant airdrop and token price maintenance. Instead,
I would focus on projects with a $10M+ fundraising and moderate competition. Treat airdrop farming like a job. Success requires daily hard work.
