Story story
It was a sweltering Friday afternoon in Lagos when Aisha stumbled upon the "opportunity of a lifetime". Her friend, Tayo, had gotten tickets to a super exclusive rooftop party in Ikoyi, and he convinced her to join. The guestlist was filled with celebs, influencers, and big players.
Aisha, a struggling designer, saw this as her chance to network, maybe land some deals. She dressed to impress, mixing traditional flair with modern chic. At the party, she got tipsy, and Tayo danced her into a circle of flashy folks. One guy, clearly loaded, offered her a wad of cash to "help" with a "small project". He whispered something shady in her ear.
Suddenly uneasy, Aisha excused herself. Tayo tried to pull her back, but she insisted on leaving. On the ride home, she realized the guy's "project" sounded like a scam. She thought about all the times she'd struggled financially, and how tempting the cash was.
Next day, news broke: that guy was a fraudster, wanted by the EFCC. Aisha shuddered thinking she'd almost gotten in deep. She remembered the late nights working on client projects for peanuts, the rejected pitches, the unpaid internships. But something felt off.
As she settled back into her quiet design routine, she smiled grimly. She'd almost risked her integrity for a quick buck. *Thank God I didn't do it* 😊.
