"It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default." ― J.K. Rowling

It is important we understand the fact that not everything we do or put our mind to will go according to plan. Sometimes, we give up without even trying because we have already conceived in our minds that we are bound to fail.

In simple terms, failure can be seen to be the inability to meet an expectation or absence of success. Failing is part of growth as long as you can always pick yourself up and try again or do better. It becomes an issue when you allow it weigh you down by dwelling on it to the point that you do not look for solutions but rather you give up.

If we do not make mistakes, how are we supposed to figure out the areas we are lacking in and improve on them?

Failure is important in life as it offers us experience. It gives you the opportunity to reflect on why certain issues turned out the way they did. It also offers growth as you learn from these experiences to do better. In addition, you gain resilience so that when you are faced with another situation that did not work out, you will handle it better as it is not something new to you.

Failure is essentially an opportunity for you to reflect, revisit your goals and grow. Understand that it is okay to fail and mess up  at times. What is not okay is succumbing to the negativity and not trying again. Ignore the naysayers, you can fail a thousand times and rise up again. Be positive about circumstances and make the most out of it.

To conclude, here are a few quotes to hold onto concerning failure

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." ― Thomas Edison

"Failure happens all the time. It happens every day in practice. What makes you better is how you react to it." ― Mia Hamm

"Do not judge me by my successes; judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again." ― Nelson Mandela

"You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try." ― Beverly Sills

"We need to accept that we won't always make the right decisions, that we'll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it's part of success." ― Arianna Huffington

Most of us are afraid of failure forgetting that it is an opportunity to try again and be better at what we do. We can learn from our mistakes and stand out.
Wonderful post. Although we shouldn't intentionally try to fail, we should challenge ourselves and take lessons from our mistakes.

@Kommie If you don't understand your failures, you're doomed to repeat them.
Great advice mate

Wonderful post not that we should set out to fail but we should challenge Ourself and learn from those failures.

you are right but its not neccesary to fail to become succesfu, if we are not taking lessions from our failure than we will always loose.

Failure is the opposite of success. I don't think there's anyone who hasn't failed in this world. At least once or twice everyone had failed at something. However I think that failure is an opportunity to work harder and do better and try again. Just because you failed once doesn't mean you can't succeed the next time you try.
It's very true we should always know weakness so that we keep working on it and one day we will make it strength. That's really a great article. It helped me a lot. Thanks buddy

I particularly love this quote from Nelson Mandela: "Do not judge me by my successes; judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again." This is so true and is often forgotten. We only see the successes rather than how many times someone actually failed and kept going. Thanks for sharing :)

Are there possibilties of living life cautiously inorder not to fail? Well if there was a manual to life it is possible. But as humans figuring out how to make the best of life, we are bound to make mistakes and fail the most important thing is to get back up stronger and better than before. Basically realising your mistakes and taking the necessay corrections.
