"I didn't expect this:" Bukayo Saka shocked after receiving England Player of the Year award

Bukayo Saka was presented with the England Player of the Year title on Friday, and he was genuinely surprised.

The Arsenal player was chosen by voters as England's standout performer over the previous 12 months, beating out England captain and runner-up Harry Kane and third-place finisher Declan Rice for the award.

According to the Daily Mail, Saka, 21, scored three goals in nine appearances for the Three Lions this season and earned man-of-the-match honors during England's 4-0 triumph over Andorra on his birthday last September.

As England prepares to face Italy in the Nations League on Friday night, fans have given the Gunners winger the ideal vote of confidence after a year.

Reacting, Saka said in disbelief, “No way! I did not expect this, honestly. I’m honoured.”
