World War II - the begining
The main causes of World War II can be attributed to a combination of political, economic, and social factors.
Treaty of Versailles and German Resentment: The harsh terms imposed on Germany after World War I, through the Treaty of Versailles, humiliated and financially burdened the country. This created a sense of resentment and desire for revenge, laying the groundwork for Adolf Hitler's rise to power.
Rise of Totalitarian Regimes: The emergence of fascist and totalitarian regimes in Europe, such as Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler and Fascist Italy under Benito Mussolini, sought to expand their territories and influence. Their aggressive policies and militarization contributed to the tensions leading to war.
Failure of Appeasement: Western powers, particularly Britain and France, pursued a policy of appeasement towards Germany in the hopes of avoiding another war.
