Don't Panic, Life Is Indeed Turn By Turn! Experience Taught Me This.
Good morning, amazing family! Special
greetings to everyone from my end.
Today started out so beautifully. The moment my little girl woke up, she called out to me: "Mama!" I answered happily and helped her over to our bed. Now, someone might say, "What's the big deal?" 🤷🏻♀️ Let me explain!
My daughter is one year old now. Ever since she started mumbling words, she never said Mama. Instead, she was obsessed with saying "Papa." The funny part? She would look right at me and call me Papa! I would say, "No, Mama," but she would just ignore me and scream "Papa!" again. Eventually, I gave up, stopped trying, and just started answering to "Papa" anytime she called.
But last month, I noticed her calling out "Mama" and bursting into laughter. 🤣 Wait a minute... Did she just say Mama? I wondered. My husband's jealousy immediately kicked in, and he said, "Can't you see she's just playing? You're already imagining things." 😳 Look, Oga, I know what I heard—she said Mama! 😂
I started encouraging her every day. Haba! This "Mama" title was a major point in my fasting and prayers, and this small madam was taking too long to deliver!
Color me shocked, but this girl knew exactly what she was doing. She started calling me Mama just to laugh at me! 🤣 She would say it and laugh so hard, you'd think my title had laughing gas attached to it. But on second thought, maybe she was just laughing at my facial expression, because, menh! I had really waited a long time to hear that word.
We continued to practice until three days ago, when the tables turned. She started calling everyone Mama—including her Papa! Just like I was answering to Papa back then, the title finally went round. 😂
But guess what? Her Papa was not having it at all! She would look at him, call him Mama, and he would practically cry, complaining that he wasn't a Mama. 😂 But wait ooh! I answered to Papa for God knows how long without complaining!
Small madam did not back down. 😂 She kept calling him Mama anyway. I finally stepped in to help and told her, "I'm Mama, he's Papa," but it felt like she had suddenly forgotten how to say Papa entirely! 😂 Whenever she tried to say Papa, it came out as "Mapa" or "Pama." 😂 I couldn’t hold my laughter!
Fast forward to this morning. When she woke up and joined us in bed, she did her usual greetings, and then I noticed something amazing: she was quietly sitting there, practicing her words.
She kept repeating them over and over until she finally got the differentiation right. She walked up to me and said "Mama," and I answered. Then she marched over to her father and called him "Papa." He was so happy! He proudly smiled and said, "Oh! Now you can differentiate who is Papa and who is Mama!" 😂
But wait ooh... it was only three days of being called Mama and he almost let hell loose! 😂 Meanwhile, all this time, she could say Grandma and Grandpa perfectly, but Mama was nowhere to be found, and I stayed calm.
The moral of my story: Don't stress yourself too much over things you cannot change in the moment. At the right time, everything will fall perfectly into place.
Thank you for reading my diary game today!
