A dusting attack is a type of malicious activity in cryptocurrency where an attacker sends tiny amounts of cryptocurrency ("dust") to numerous wallet addresses to compromise the privacy of the owners. The ultimate goal is to track transaction movements and de-anonymize the individuals or entities behind the wallets, potentially leading to targeted phishing scams, cyber-extortion, or other threats.
